Blue skies and balmy mid 80-degree weather kicked off the Myrtle Beach Bike Week during Memorial Day weekend. We were in for a special treat this year as bikers were in awe to see the Polaris Slingshot team on location with their stellar setups at Redline Powersports and the Hooters parking lot at the North Mall. Last year onlookers were highly intrigued to see the three wheeled motorcycles hit the streets, many of them equipped with custom wheels, detailed paint jobs and impressive sound systems. The Polaris Slingshot came in the industry and took the market by storm with its’ sleek design and use of three wheels.

The Polaris Slingshot team kicked off the festivities with a welcoming party at BurgerFi, otherwise known as the five-star restaurant of burgers.  With no microwaves, freezers or heat lamps, BurgerFi dished out some of the best burgers around, along with veggie options, while brand new Polaris Slingshots were posted out front for patrons to check out and converse with Polaris Slingshot specialists. Alongside the Polaris Slingshots were custom sportbikes, baggers, cruisers and fat tire choppers that made the scene truly look like a bikers hangout.

For the duration of the weekend, even thru Tropical Storm Bonnie, the Polaris Slingshot team setup various Polaris Slingshots at Redline PowerSports and the Hooters parking lot at the North Mall. The Polaris Slingshot display rig was definitely a show stopper as you were drawn in from Highway 17 with the many Polaris Slingshot banners. There were a plenty of giveaways, as well as purchase opportunities during Memorial Bike Week. A special treat was the slingshot rolling burnout session that happened in the stunt show. Smoke filled the air at Redline Powersports while the rear wheel on the Slingshot burned rubber.

Be sure to follow the Polaris Slingshot event schedule, http://www.polaris.com/en-us/slingshot/events , to see if they will be landing in a city near you. See you next year and enjoy the photo gallery.
